Overview
RTU Power Distribution BoardThe RTU Power Distribution Board (RPDB) provides power protection, battery test, shutdown and switches for controlling operating mode and power.
The RPDB uses Poly Switches manufactured by Raychem. A Poly Switch goes open when its rated current has been exceeded and heals itself back to its original shorted state when the operating current falls below a specific threshold point. Therefore, it is not necessary to discard a Poly Switch or self-resetting fuse.
The +24 VDC analog sourcing voltage is generated through a MAX643 +12 VDC to +24 VDC switching regulated converter. Its output voltage can be adjusted down to +20 VDC to conserve energy when solar power is used.
