These products provide communication expansion for controllers.

WRAT Modem

The WRAT 202 piggy-back modem is specifically designed to interface either radio or wire-line communication signals with the 6008, 608 or 604 family of single board controllers.

The modem piggy-backs on all boards. It requires a regulated input voltage within the range of 12 VDC to 15 VDC to operate.

WIRE Wireline Interface Board

The WIRE card is designed to interface the wire-line communication signal to the WRAT Bell 202 piggy-back modem.

It consists of equalization circuitry designed to match the impedance of the wire-line. The transmit equalization circuit on the WIRE card is optically coupled. It's designed such that it

  • matches the impedance of the wire-line (typically 600 Ohms) in transmit mode
  • turns into a high input impedance card (50 kOhms) in receive mode.

This allows for maximum power transfer.

A transmit LED is provided on the WIRE card, which turns on when the modem is transmitting data. The WIRE card also has transient protection circuitry that has been tested with the IEEE 472.1974 surge tests.

TAIL Radio Interface Board

The TAIL card is used to interface power and audio signals between two way data (telemetry) radios and modems.

The TAIL provides termination, fusing and audio level padding to insure the correct transmit and receive levels are presented to the radio.

SSOT Simple Serial Tile RS-232/RS-485 Interface Board

The SSOT is designed to piggy-back on the 604SLCR or 608C controller boards.

The SSOT gives each controller board one additional RS-232 or RS-485 serial port. The board has transmit, receive, carrier detect and request to send LEDs. RS-232 signals are brought to a standard RJ-45 8-pin modular jack, while the RS-485 signals are brought to a 3-position plug terminal block.

SROAM Bell 202 Radio Modem Board

Our SROAM is a Bell 202 Compatible 1200bps half duplex radio modem, with an RS-232 serial interface.

It is designed as a stand alone unit. The SROAM has a built in 10 pin interface for standard low power data radios, and can also be directly interfaced to many mobile radios without making modifications.

SA202 A/C Bell 202 Modem

The SA202 master modem is designed to provide either radio or wire-line communication between a polling master computer and remote telemetry units.

It supports the Bell 202 standard for 1200 baud FSK, bidirectional communication over dedicated simplex channels. Typically powered by 110 VAC, this unit has enough reserve to support most data radios.

Although most of our controller boards have built in serial or Ethernet hardware for communications, there is frequently a need for additional communication channels. These boards provide some expansion options for our standard controller boards.

We also have a wide range of non-integrated products. Some of these are used in our RTU and PLC products and others are sold on their own to other customers who integrate them with their own hardware.
