These devices provide field termination and conditioning for controllers.

ARC Actuator Relay Control Board

The Automation and Electronics, Inc. ARC board is typically used to interface control signals from the 608 SBC Intelligent Controller to a control valve actuator.

Two 12 VDC Form C (DPDT) relays with 7.5 A inductively rated contacts at 120 VAC are available for open/close control. In addition, manual open/close toggle switches are provided.

ROA16 Discrete Output Field Termination

The Automation and Electronics, Inc. ROA-16 is a relay output board designed to provide expansion of sixteen additional relay outputs for our SRTU-121, 604-SLCR and 608C controllers.

The ROA-16 provides sixteen Form A (normally open) relay outputs. Each relay is driven by a MOSFET which turns on and off according to the written data from the processor. Each relay output has an LED to provide an visual indication when the relay is energized.

PRO8 8 Channel Power Relay Output Card

The PRO 8 board provides 8 normally closed or normally open relay outputs, where the relays are of DPDT, +12 VDC energizing single coil, RH2B-U type.

Each relay is driven by a MOSFET which turns on and off according to the written data from the processor. The PRO 8 connects directly to a Micro Expansion Bus (MEB) module through a 16 pin ribbon cable. The MEB board acts as an interface between the processor and the PRO 8.

Each output relay has an LED to provide a visual indication of the closed or open status for the relay output contacts.

DIF16 Discrete Input Field Terminator

The DIF16 board contains 16 optically coupled discrete inputs.

Each input termination of the DIF16 board is completely transient protected and optically coupled to isolate surge currents and voltages from entering the main circuit board. The DIF16 board provides R/C filtering and logic level conversion components to convert noisy input signals into clean logic levels which the processor can read without error.

The DIF16 board has protection ground and field sourcing voltage terminal blocks. Proper fusing is also provided to protect the circuit. Each channel has an LED which turns on when an input field contact has been generated. Two power indicating LEDs are also included. They are lit when power has been applied to the board.

The DIF16 board connects to our Micro Expander Bus (MEB) board through a 16 pin ribbon cable.

DIF8 Discrete Input Field Terminator

The DIF8 board contains 8 optically coupled discrete inputs.

Each input termination of the DIF8 board is completely transient protected and optically coupled to isolate surge currents and voltages from entering the main circuit board. The DIF8 board provides R/C filtering and logic level conversion components to convert noisy input signals into clean logic levels which the processor can read without error.

The DIF8 board has protection ground and field sourcing voltage terminal blocks. Proper fusing is also provided to protect the circuit. Each channel has an LED which turns on when an input field contact has been generated. Two power indicating LEDs are also included. They are lit when power has been applied to the board.

The DIF8 board connects to our Micro Expander Bus (MEB) board through a 16 pin ribbon cable.

SRAO 2 Channel Analog Output Board

The Automation and Electronics, Inc. SRAO board was designed to provide analog output expansion capabilities for the SRTU simple RTU.

The SRAO is a two channel 4-20 mA analog output daughter board that plugs onto the SRTU board. The outputs require an external 24 VDC source to supply power for both current loops.

SRIO SRTU I/O Expansion Board

Automation and Electronics, Inc. SRIO was designed to provide additional digital input / digital output and analog input / analog output for our Simple RTU (SRTU).

The digital inputs from the SRIO board can be connected to our DIF-8, DIF-16, or equivalent input boards. The digital outputs from the SRIO can be connected to our PRO-4, PRO-8 or ROA-16 output boards.

TURBO-4 4 Channel Turbine Meter Input Board

The TURBO-4 is a microprocessor based four channel turbine meter input board.

Each turbine meter signal can be programmed with a divisor from 1 to 999,999. The resulting solid state output represents a unit volume of liquid or gas. This output pulse can be interfaced to RTUs, computers or PLCs for further totalization or processing.

TSAM Turbine Signal Adapter Board

This board conditions the low level analog signal from a turbine meter pickup for use with other equipment's digital inputs.

The low-level AC signal is amplified and squared. The squared signal drives an open collector transistor to provide a pulsed DC signal interface to the other equipment's digital input. This signal is referenced to the voltage supply common and will couple directly to an input requiring a sinking signal. A pull up resistor is necessary for inputs that require a sourcing signal. Each turbine signal cycle produces one output pulse.

STRB 4 Channel Turbine Accumulator Input Smart Card

The Automation and Electronics, Inc. STRB was designed to provide turbine meter and pulse input expansion capability for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). With a low power requirement and a wide operating temperature range, the STRB is ideal for use in remote 120 VAC, 24 VDC, or solar powered distributed I/O systems. It can also be used as a stand-alone MODBUS turbine meter and pulse input module.

The STRB is a microprocessor based four-channel accumulator board. This card is capable of accumulating pulses directly from either turbine meter magnetic pickups or dry contact closures. Jumpers are provided for each channel to select the type of pulse input being used. The on-board microprocessor accumulates these pulses, and makes them available to either host systems or master controllers via a serial data highway.

The data highway is implemented using the built in RS-485 serial port. All of the Smart Card series can be daisy chained together using these serial ports. Each Smart Card responds to MODBUS polls or commands from a master. An on-board address selector switch allows each board to be easily configured for any MODBUS address. This RS-485 data highway can then be used to create a scalable, flexible input / output expansion array.
